I have to admit that I actually didn't vote this morning. I voted a few weeks ago via mail in ballot. Luckily they still sent me an, "I voted early" sticker, so I have something to wear today. We've got a lot of propositions on the ballot here in AZ, so it's not just about the next President, though I am hoping for a happier election night that the previous two. I know most of you are big McCain fans, so maybe you could all just vote Obama so poor Dustin doesn't have to suffer through another election night sob fest? I know he'd appreciate it and really, I think it's my turn. Actually if you live in a solid red/blue state, you just vote for whoever. I'm mainly concerned about anyone who lives in Virginia, Pennsylvania, Florida and Ohio ;p
I kid! I kid! Just get out and VOTE! Also -- no snarky comments please :D
Since I didn't get to vote at the polls this year, I made everyone run down to our polling station this morning so I could feel like I was part of the process. No lines or anything, so everyone head on down!! Dustin just got back and said it was GREAT!
Also, I will accept chocolate chip cookies or snickerdoodles in case I'm in a deep dark depression tomorrow. Eek! I'm nervous. Happy Election Day!

I was kind of upset we had to vote in Utah this year, I wanted to help push Pennsylvania to the blue side, but luckily my parents are still there to help!
You are so funny, Maddy! I like your pleasant request for "no snarky comments"!
You're right, regardless who we vote for, we all need to JUST DO IT!!
What happened to your Obama sign? Not again! We voted early too. Go Obama!
I don't know if I can watch the results tonight, it might give me a heart attack!! Maybe I will just rent a good movie and watch the news tomorrow morning. Oh, who am I kidding. I'll mail you cookies if McCain wins if you mail us cookies if Obama wins =).
I too am nervous for the results to come in. I am counting on getting to bed very late. Sigh.
Glad you voted! :)
Proud of you for sticking up for what you believe! It is OK to agree to disagree.love ya!
So proud of you for voting early, but I have to tell you it was so electric to vote this morning! There was such hope and happiness at the polls. I actually shouted as I was leaving the voting booth! It such an awesome feeling to know that we participated in this historical election -- just think your kids will barely remember that this was the first election where we had such diverse choices. I almost cried this morning when I saw the hope and the joy in the faces of my fellow voters! People were high fiving and hugging as they left the polls! I intend to be up until the bitter end! Go Obama!
Ok, I've been lurking on your blog forever, silently cheering you on, but I can't control myself any longer...GO OBAMA!!! I'm so nervous and excited today. I could hardly sleep last night and I don't know how I'll be able to sleep tonight. Please, please, please please... Thanks for being such an inspiration.
Kyle will be up all night with me. I think it is kewl that the kids get into this also. He has extra credit if he documents everything. What an awesome learning election.
I am scared!!!
Cade was telling us the other night that at lunch he and his friends sit there and talk politics. Wouldn't I love to be a fly on the wall for those converstations! LOL
I'm not in a deep dark depression, but I could use some cookies as sort of a consolation prize. :D Not that I'm a "fan" of McCain, no no, that would be a BIG stretch. I did have a hard time watching it, we mostly watched recorded shows. I hope it all turns out better than expected.
I thought of you and Lisa first thing!
Can you send me some cookies? I'm not even depressed, but cookies sound gooooood.
love ya!
I think Erin needs some cookies. The poor girl was distraught over the results. Who knew a 7 yr old would be so invested? ;)
Dudes -- I know too many of you to make cookies for you all. ;D The only thing I can do is not be a bad winner. So I'll be quiet and gracious. Plus with my track record -- I'd probably eat them before they made it to your house.
I love that there are a few fellow Democrats in the mix though. :D And I'm not even related to two of them.
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
seriously--when i saw jesse' jackson's tears i felt chills. so happy, so hopeful. so excited!!!!!
ok--i'm done. i think we should go out together and celebrate! i'm taking the girls to starbucks for hot chocolate!!!!
This morning when Hayden woke up he asked who won, I told him Barack Obama, and he said, Me and Maddy voted for him, is he coming to our house now?
I think Hayden has a little to learn but he is excited that he voted for the person who won!
I loved reading your Mom's comments! She is so your Mom! I could totally see you shouting when leaving the polls...if you didn't vote early.
Congrats on the win! Now it's the waiting game to see if he will live up to all that smack!
I know it was the other way around the last 2 elections so I can't complain. But sometimes I feel like the people in Penn --- their vote is like 21 times more important than mine. Or is is 22?
