Up and down

Friday -- UPPER! Unlike my sister, who has termed it Sucklight, I actually like Twilight. Maybe because I had such terribly low expectations for the thing that it had to be better than that? Or was it just the awesome company? Maybe it was that I got to sit next to Susan who had never read the books and was actually on the edge of her seat at times because she had no idea what was going to happen? But the night was definitely an upper for me. I even felt adventurous enough to try something new for dinner at Rubio's -- and I liked it.

Saturday -- DOWNER! Let's just say that after donning the white and blue, I might have a few strong words for Max Hall. Should I track down his parents house? It can't be too hard since he's from Mesa. I can't believe a football game could overshadow all the other awesomeness of the day.

Sunday -- UPPER! It was my birthday and exactly what a birthday should be. I got to sleep in, Dustin made my favorite breakfast and my favorite dinner. I got lots of fun gifts -- exercise clothes, a trip to the spa, a new coat from my sister and mom, cupcakes, cookies, hand soap, cards, a giant paper clip, a cookie sheet advent calendar, phone calls from so many awesome friends. . . heck, I even got toilet papered. Only too bad for them because our neighbors came over at 9:30 to wish me Happy Birthday and I didn't even have to de-toilet paper my own home, but as always -- there will be revenge!

So there you go. Another pictureless post. I should really dig the camera out. So tell me what you thought of Twilight! What do you order at Rubio's that I should try next? How hard to you cry after the BYU loss? What should I do with the garbage sack full of toilet paper in my front hall?

So glad you had a great birthday! The game was a total downer... I can't wait to see Twilight this weekend, like Susan, I have never read the books so I am sure I will be engaged in the movie!

I guess patience is not my virtue...

I have yet to see Twilight. Whenever we find out who are good babysitters maybe we can venture out. Glad you had a great birthday!
I CRAVE Rubios sometimes. They didn't have them in Texas, and have yet to really get out here to know if it exists here. I can most likely assume that is a no go too.

recycle! your dad didn't give you the coat, too?

Did you squeeze in a trip to the temple for the stake temple day to lift your spirits??? I mean, you had a Lego temple and everything to remind you! Sorry I am lame and didn't do anything for your b-day - consider the meaningless award I gave you your gift! :)

I will email you about invites tonight!

Happy Birthday! Glad it was wonderful.

I haven't seen Twilight yet. Since I wasn't a huge fan of the books, I don't know if I ever will. But maybe perhaps someday.

I did see the travesty that was the big game, though. I also was wondering if the Utes had bribed Max to give them the ball at every opportunity? Sheesh!

And actually, I feel really sorry for him, he must be beating himself up right now.

I hear you also had a great turkey sandwich for lunch. There is a little someone -- I'm on her to-do-list you know -- who tells me that the sandwich even sported tooth picks! Glad you had a happy birthday. Can't wait to hear how Family Home Meeting goes tonite! Will the lesson be on passwords, New York City or Love One Another!
And the carmel apple pie she's making with Grandma Rogers sounds yummy!
Love you, M's Mom

I am giving in and am going to see Twilight this weekend. I have low expectations too, so hopefully I will be pleasantly surprised.

Happy Belated Birthday! They gave you a coat? They do know you live in Arizona, right???

LOL, at least if your yard wasn't decorated with little wood sticks this year, you got TPed! That's awesome! Is your tree in the front big enough for that now? haha!

I always hope that you'll still find a bit of fake snow on the ground around your birthday.

I thought of you on Twilight night too! I'm glad you enjoyed it!!

I liked Twilight . . . didn't ♥ it! But, in my head there were a lot more vivid images, as I read, than what I saw on the big screen!
But, for example, my niece who is NOT a reader is suddenly compelled to read the books, after seeing the movie TWICE over the weekend!

I LOVED Twilight. I haven't read the books so I had no expectations and I like that feeling. I saw it friday night and I have already finished the first book and have started the second. So I think I liked it! Happy Belated Birthday!

I mostly liked Twilight. I knew there was no way it would be as good as the books. I thought the pale makeup was ridiculous, and I'm really not much of a Bella fan even in the books but those were my only real gripes.

At Rubios I like the lobster burrito when they have it. YUM! Now next time in town I'm gonna want to go!

HAPPY belated birthday!! I didn't even know when your b-day was so thats my excuse. And I'm not a BYU fan or hater but I'm sorry they lost for you. Boo! Have a great Thanksgiving, fun that it is at your house! I need to put up pictures soon too, I've been slacking big time with the camera.

Happy Birthday! am I a lame friend or what?? Sorry that I didn't do anything FUN or CRAZY for you! I'll make it up to you, I promise! and I'm sure you've seen my blog that I really liked the movie! I'm not a picky movie person, a night out away from kids, popcorn, a soda... Even if the movie is kinda lame it's still fun to get out!

Max Hall's parents are in my parent's ward. Let me know if you want the address...

I saw Twilight again tonight! I REALLY liked it the second time. I'm still Team Edward - woohoo!

Ya, I could tell you where the Hall's live (my brother and him are good friends) but I will spare them.
I'm so glad you had a great B-day! You didn't even mention how we all sang to you in primary! ;)
And yes, I liked the movie. Cheesy but I liked it.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I am so glad you had an awesome day!

I definately think it is the company you are with when seeing twilight. I went with my mom (71yrs old), my Aunt, and my sister. None had read the book or were too excited to see the movie. My aunt walked out of the movie.
You went with a great group of friends who are excited to see it!
BYU game well I turned it off after half time.

Glad you had a good birthday. Twilight was pretty much what I expected. I thought it was fun, nothing awesome. I do feel bad for anyone who hadn't read the books, though, because I thought it left out a lot of explaining! I will be interested to see what they do with the next one.

Happy Birthday!! I have to agree with your sister about Twilight. The first time I saw it I hated it. Why oh why couldn't they get the meadow "Edward in the sun" scene right?? I liked it the second time because I went in telling myself that I would hate it.

happy birthday!!!

hated twilight. can it be the big sucklight? yeah. sorry. i wanted the vampires to be beautiful. not completely horrific looking. the 'bad' vampires were actually way better looking. don't get me started.

yeah--i could help you out with the max hall thing. went to school with max's mom and they were in my old ward in mesa. max is actually dallas' age. funny huh. so i take cash. LOL

i think i get the fish tacos at rubios. but we don't have one here so i never get there anymore. i'm a baja fresh girl myself!

love you.

Happy late birthday!! Sounds like a perfect day - even the toilet papering, as it meant someone was thinking about you - he he! I felt the same way about Twilight, because I had no expectations, I liked it.
